Duration: 4 months (Sep-Dec)
Start Date: 1st September (or as close to this date as possible)

The goals and context of the project:
In line with peak 2022, ad-hoc transports are expected to increase from 73 weekly ad-hocs during off-peak to 531 weeks ad-hocs during peak weeks, i.e. from 4.3% of total transports off-peak to 20.4% of total transports during peak. However, the team is only staffed to handle 370 ad-hocs, which ramp from current will be supported by:
a) planning standard transports for multiple weeks;
b) postponing tasks such as new requests and uncritical analysis;
c) 10% overtime during peak weeks.
Therefore, we will still have a remaining gap for 160 ad-hocs transports, for which we need 2 additional resources temporarily during peak as 1 ad-hoc transport consumes 30min on average.

The main responsibilities include:
-Truck forecasting
-Aligning transport needs with carriers and obtaining their confirmation for required capacities
-Truck planning and scheduling in TMS
-Implementation of new transport lines
-Key interface between carriers and the warehouses
-Root-cause and corrective actions related to transport deviations
-Cooperation with internal departments
-Monitoring of key metrics related to truck volumes, costs and performance

Ideally you will have:
-University Degree or apprenticeship with focus on economics, business economics, supply chain or similar disciplines
-Several years of experience in logistics & supply chain, ideally in the transport management or transport planning field
-Experience and willingness to schedule trucks where needed
-Openness to learn and use a new TMS (Eyefreight)
-High level of ownership and bias for action
-Strong motivation and ownership, you are eager to continuously improve
-Enjoys working independently as well as in a team and across teams
-Ability to interact and communicate with various stakeholders at all levels in order to foster close collaboration and negotiations
-You have excellent knowledge in Office skills
-You have the will and ability to quickly get deeply involved in complex contexts and to persistently pursue the set goal. At the same time, you do not lose sight of the big picture
-High focus on customer experience, analytical mind, strong communication skills
-Considers problems as opportunities and enjoys proposing required solutions
