With $20+ million in funding and in excess of 150,000 users, this business has brought simple, free, stock investing to everyone by removing the normal expense and complication! They have built a totally in-house investment app that trades real shares, with zero commission or fees in a fluid, mobile-first experience.
With support from the UK business along with the guidance of the UK founders and management team, you will be the very first member of staff in Berlin and the person leading the expansion.
The Head of Engineering is to be the first hire within the soon to grow German business and will be involved in where the office is located and also how the business will be shaped in Berlin.
The future of the growth has been drawn up so there is a defined plan for your future, the role will focus on organic growth and the first steps for this are to hire highly motivated people who are happy to be fully involved in the opening stages of an existing business in a new country.
The future of the team will include the hiring of engineers. First of all to help you to raise the bar for the organisation and their technical capability. Your role at this stage will be providing ongoing feedback on your team member's technical & leadership performance.
You will be involved in the design and development of non-trivial features. Developing a deep understanding of multiple parts of their stack as well as the processes and technologies relevant to the consumer. This will be done by raising the bar further by working with the teams and contributing to best practices, automation, documentation, and hiring.
Overseeing thoroughly-tested software that has few regressions. Support operational excellence and make measurable improvements to our support processes. The current work culture prioritises speed, care, and effectiveness and you'll have the freedom to pursue your own ideas and solutions.
